Denham sits just over the Buckinghamshire border from Uxbridge, and manages to feel genuinely rural despite being minutes from the M40 and M25.
The different parts of Denham
There are several distinct areas locals treat separately. Denham Village is the historic centre, a conservation area of period cottages along Village Road. Denham Green grew up around the shops beside the railway station. New Denham sits along the Oxford Road closer to Uxbridge.
Green space and water
Denham Country Park forms part of the Colne Valley Regional Park, with walking routes along the Grand Union Canal and the River Colne. The visitor centre area has the most accessible surfaced paths, which is worth knowing if walking distance is a consideration.
Golf
Denham has two well-known clubs: Denham Golf Club on Tilehouse Lane, and The Buckinghamshire on Denham Court Drive. Denham Golf Club even has its own small railway halt on the Chiltern line.
Getting around
Denham has two stations — Denham and Denham Golf Club — both on Chiltern Railways into Marylebone. Road links are excellent, with the M40 and M25 both close, which is part of why the area is popular with people travelling regularly.
