Terminal 2, the Queen's Terminal, sits in Heathrow's Central Terminal Area alongside Terminal 3. Collecting someone from it works differently from dropping them off.
No kerbside collection
As at every Heathrow terminal, you cannot wait on the Terminal 2 forecourt to collect an arriving passenger. The set-down area outside is for drop-offs only, with a ten-minute limit and a charge per entry, enforced by number plate cameras.
Where to collect instead
Collections are made from the car parks serving the Central Terminal Area:
- Terminal Parking (short stay) — closest to arrivals, charged by duration
- Long Stay Park and Ride — free for a short initial period, with a shuttle bus link to the terminal
Easy to confuse with Terminal 3
Terminal 2 and Terminal 3 are neighbours in the same building cluster, but they have separate arrivals halls and separate forecourts. Turning up at the wrong one wastes time even though they are close together. Check the boarding pass rather than relying on a previous trip, since airlines do move between terminals.
The simpler option
A pre-booked private hire transfer removes the car park question entirely. Your driver tracks the flight and meets your passenger inside arrivals with a name board, at a price fixed when you book.
